The legendary Kiwi band - featuring Tim Finn, Neil Finn, Eddie
Rayner, Noel Crombie and Nigel Griggs - will play Auckland, Wellington
and Christchurch dates in March, 2008.
Split Enz are one of New Zealand\'s best known bands, releasing
several hit singles in critically acclaimed albums in the late \'70s and
early \'80s.
Thanks to hits like I See Red, Six Months in a Leaky Boat and Poor Boy, Split Enz scored numerous No. 1 albums and singles in Australia and New Zealand.
Canadians embraced them with three No. 1 album spots, while the
UK, Holland, Belgium, Israel and Spain all saw the band chart into the
Top 10.
Tour promoter Michael Gudinski said fans should prepare themselves for some surprises.
\"Split Enz had so many hits throughout their career that they
are icons. Split Enz define the \'70s and \'80s for so many Kiwis so this
is going to be the ultimate gig for these people.\"
The band reformed in 2006 for a short Australian tour and received critical praise.
Brisbane\'s Courier Mail said the set was \"a dream run through a decade of golden hits\".
\"The Enz wasted no time showing their true colours haven\'t
faded, much to the delight of an excited, eclectic crowd,\" Adelaide\'s
The Advertiser said.
Tickets for the band\'s shows go on sale on November 15.
