Alison Silva alleges he suffered physical injuries, shock and mental pain after the accident in March this year.

The snapper wants the actor to cough up money to cover loss of earnings, medical fees and legal costs.

The alleged incident took place on March 19 this year, while Reeves was behind the wheel of a black Porsche 911 Cabrio.

Silva claims the actor struck him with the vehicle, injuring him and leaving him unable to work for a period of time.

Although the lawsuit does not specify where the accident occurred, it is understood to have taken place outside a clinic in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

The lawsuit, filed in LA Superior Court yesterday (Monday), says the photographer sustained \"serious injuries to body and severe shock and injuries to the nervous system and person\".

According to the court documents, the injuries \"have caused and continue to cause Plaintiff [Silva] great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering\".

The total damages Silva is seeking is not known.

A representative for Reeves, 43, was not available for comment.
